Emerald Fennell ha consigliato 13 film stilosi da vedere per prepararsi alla visione del suo Cime Tempestose

Film memorabili per l'estetica audace, i costumi bellissimi e anche per "l'infedeltà" rispetto ai romanzi da cui erano tratti.

In vista del suo adattamento tutt’altro che storicamente accurato e già dibattutissimo di Cime Tempestose, la regista Emerald Fennell ha condiviso con Vogue una lista di 13 film “stilosi” pensati come percorso di avvicinamento all’estetica audace del suo film. La lista, creata in occasione della rassegna del BFI dedicata alle storie d’amore, copre quasi un secolo di storia del cinema: dagli anni Quaranta a film recenti come Mademoiselle di Park Chan-wook e L’inganno di Sofia Coppola. I fili conduttori di questa selezione sembrano essere almeno tre. Il primo è quello della componente romantica, con film incentrati sul racconto di relazioni sentimentali intense, talvolta problematiche ed estreme, come, per esempio, Crash di David Cronenberg e Il portiere di notte di Liliana Cavani. Nella lista figurano anche alcuni adattamento rimasti nella storia del cinema proprio per l’approccio volutamente “traditore” dal punto di vista storico e letterario, o con interpretazioni estetiche innovative. Fennell accosta così idealmente le sue scelte forti nell’adattare Cime Tempestose a quelle di Baz Luhrmann in Romeo + Giulietta o di Francis Ford Coppola in Dracula di Bram Stoker. Film molto noti e amati anche grazie ai loro splendidi costumi che hanno saputo trasportare l’essenza del racconto originale in contesti molto differenti. Ovvero l’operazione che Emerald Fennell spera di fare con Cime Tempestose.
