A Parigi aprirà il primo museo al mondo interamente dedicato ad Alberto Giacometti

Sarà inaugurato a fine 2028 e nella sua collezione permanente ci saranno 10 mila tra opere, oggetti e documenti dello scultore.

Dal 2028 Alberto Giacometti avrà un museo tutto per sé: Parigi ospiterà il primo spazio interamente dedicato allo scultore svizzero, come riporta The Art Newspaper. Il museo aprirà alla fine del 2028 nel VII arrondissement (una delle zone più cool della capitale francese), nell’ex stazione ferroviaria Gare des Invalides.

Lo spazio ospiterà oltre 10 mila opere e documenti prodotti da o legati all’artista, tra disegni, sculture, dipinti, stampe e materiali d’archivio. Molte di queste opere, pur giudicate di grande valore artistico e realizzate nel periodo più celebrato della carriera di Giacometti, non sono mai state esposte al pubblico proprio perché finora non aveva mai avuto a disposizione uno spazio sufficiente per tutte e si era dovuto “accontentare” di metrature ridotte ed esposizioni temporanee.

Il museo, invece, avrà a disposizione uno spazio di circa 6 mila metri quadrati e includerà, oltre alla collezione permanente, una libreria, un ristorante, un caffè e aree dedicate alle attività educative. È prevista anche la ricostruzione dello studio che Giacometti aveva nel XIV arrondissement, dove visse e lavorò dal 1926 fino alla morte.
