Sull’isola di Epstein c’era un Pokestop di Pokemon Go ma non si sa chi è stato a metterlo lì
E probabilmente non lo sapremo mai, visto che lo sviluppatore del gioco Niantic nel frattempo lo ha rimosso.
Più ci si addentra nei meandri degli Epstein Files e più stranezze, storture e storie raccapriccianti emergono. Tra presunti casi di pedofilia, di cannibalismo, di traffico di esseri umani, di consumo di droga, di tentativi di corruzione e di interferenze con governi stranieri è spuntato anche PokemonGo. L’isola di Little Saint James (acquistata da una società di Epstein nel 1998 per 7,95 milioni di dollari), che fa parte dell’arcipelago delle Isole Vergini, è stata indicata come un Pokestop, ovvero un luogo di interesse nel mondo reale (monumenti, parchi, opere d’arte) presso il quale i giocatori possono fermarsi ottenendo una rifornimento di oggetti utili e soprattutto gratuiti.
Come riporta Forbes, il Pokestop – ora rimosso – in questione sembrerebbe essere stato aggiunto tra il 2020 e il 2021, quindi dopo la morte di Epstein (avvenuta nel 2019). E per quanto possa sembrare assurdo, negli Epstein Files il gioco è menzionato diverse volte. Come riporta Forbes, in uno scambio di mail tra Epstein e il medico e scrittore indiano Deepak Chopra, il defunto finanziere descrive il gioco in maniera estremamente entusiastica. Chopra, dal canto suo, nelle mail afferma come valga la pena investire nella realtà aumentata e suggerisce a Epstein di investire nel gioco.
Ma la vera domanda è: come è potuto succedere? Dal momento che i dipendenti di Niantic (società statunitense che ha sviluppato il gioco) non possono viaggiare in tutto il mondo per segnare i luoghi come Pokestop, affida questo incarico ai giocatori che hanno superato il livello 35. Non si riesce a capire se si tratti di uno scherzo o di un giocatore che si trovava sull’isola. In ogni caso non può essere stato Epstein dal momento che, come detto, il Pokestop è stato aggiunto nel 2020 o nel 2021, quindi dopo la sua morte.
